DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role focuses on performing light maintenance, repair work, and custodial tasks that support the upkeep of Department Headquarters. You help maintain building interiors and grounds while ensuring that equipment, tools, and facilities remain in good condition. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Painting Tasks: Apply paint to interior and exterior surfaces and prepare areas by sanding, chipping, and priming
- General Repairs: Fix and install doors, shelving, tiles, walls, and office furniture as well as replace lighting and equipment parts
- Plumbing Work: Repair pumps, sinks, toilets, pipes, and other fixtures and clear drains as needed
- Custodial Duties: Clean floors, restrooms, furniture, and surfaces and maintain supplies and trash handling routines
- Grounds Care: Remove snow, mow lawns, trim shrubs, perform masonry tasks, and maintain outdoor areas using appropriate tools and equipment
- Tool Maintenance: Care for maintenance tools and machinery by cleaning, sharpening, and replacing parts when needed

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
