POSITION SUMMARY : The Senior Director for Risk Management is a senior system leader responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of the Risk Management function across a three-hospital system including an academic medical center and other affiliates. This role leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive Boston Medical Center (BMC) health system risk management program designed to reduce harm, minimize organizational liability, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety and accountability. This role partners closely with senior quality/patient safety, clinical, operation, legal, and administrative leaders to proactively identify and mitigate risk, strengthen organizational learning from safety events and claims, and ensure consistent risk management practices across hospitals. The role requires strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to influence decision-making across complex organizational structures. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS(responsible for on-call, 24 hr. coverage, etc.): Oversee on-call coverage for Risk Management Specialists, and provide back-up as needed Compensation Range: $153,000.00- $222,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
