The Firmware C/C++ and C# Intern Software Engineer will aid in design, implement, maintain, and improve medical software systems used for the acquisition of endoscopic images and management of patient health information (PHI). The area of responsibility will cover ENT products and core systems

Responsibilities of Research and Development Inter/Co-op



  • Work in a team or individually to design, develop and test software applications, services and components running on the Windows platform.
  • Diagnose / debug / correct software problems. Work with design team members to deliver on commitments within a specified time frame.* Use department approved tools for development, source code control, and documentation. Including IAR, Visual Studio and TFS.
  • Areas of development may include: (1) Application development/maintenance, (2) STM32 Firmware, (3) embedded programming, (4) database design (5) software build automation, and (6) product utilities.
  • Work with engineering test team and production teams on software verification and validation activities.
  • Maintain engineering requirement specifications and other technical documentation. Perform tasks as specified by the software development manager.
  • Contribute to the improvement of development systems and processes associated with the software development life cycle.
  • Adhere to the company quality management system and work within a regulated environment (62304, ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR)


Requirements of Research and Development Inter/Co-op


  • BS in computer science or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Programming and algorithm skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to develop presentations to explain ideas.
  • Ability to work on Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Working knowledge of Firmware in C/C++ on STM32 microcontroller and C# in actual application development is a plus
  • Experience working with Medical Device and Design Control process is a plus.


*The salary range listed is contingent on experience and is at the discretion of the Company and hiring manager.
