Job Requirements
Software Engineer Intern, Rails & Localization Fearless is excited to launch our internship program in partnership with the Maryland Lighthouse AI Initiative. This program provides college students, recent graduates, and career changers with real-world experience in the government technology industry. Interns will gain hands-on technical skills alongside a broad set of professional skills - including interviewing, resume building, and networking - to support job readiness and long-term career growth. This internship will begin on June 1 and end on August 14, 2026. As a Rails + Localization Engineer Intern on the WorkerX team, you will support the Employer's Workflow within a Family and Medical Leave Insurance application - the system that helps workers and their employers navigate paid family and medical leave. Your work will focus on supporting Ruby on Rails features, resolving User Acceptance Testing (UAT) feedback, rolling out translations to make the application more accessible to residents, and keeping documentation accurate as the product evolves. You'll contribute directly to production code and ship user-facing improvements that real employers across the state will use. Your Responsibilities in this Role:
