Description

Job Title: Laboratory Service Center Supervisor

Reports to: Laboratory Director or Field Services Director as appropriate.

Job Summary:

Performs a critical role in support of new ATG service center in the Charlotte, NC, market. The Service Center Supervisor is responsible for scheduling sampling events, receiving samples, and arranging courier service to the Greenville lab for analysis. The role may include sample collection and performance of field analyses, including pH, Temperature, Total Residual Chlorine, Flow, and Composite setup and breakdown. This role also includes serving as a point-of-contact for Charlotte area clients and working closely with the project management group to ensure timely response and client satisfaction.


Essential Functions

  • Generate labels and COCs for laboratory work in preparation for field
  • Track sample shipments with laboratories to ensure appropriate
  • Log in samples to LIMS based on the submitted chains of custody with proposed scope
  • Prepare bottle kits for client projects
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned
  • Take phone calls and assist with client requests and scheduling
  • Complete and process basic forms, logs, and databases related to field activities


Supervisor Responsibilities

Supervisor responsibilities include oversight of the service center, including scheduling and coordination with the courier service and the stack office on premises.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years administrative experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in managing laboratory
  • Basic knowledge of environmental sampling techniques and safety practices
  • Positive attitude and willingness to engage with clients to ensure client satisfaction
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle


Pay Rate

$22-$25/hour DOE


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Work, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external vendors

  • Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines, and work independently


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting as well as in the field.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. In the field environment, employee may frequently be required to lift, carry, push, or pull. Exertion of up to 30 pounds of force may be occasionally required. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.


Travel

Local, in the Charlotte, NC, area. Occasional travel to Greenville, SC to deliver samples.
