Electrical Engineering Early Development Team Leader- North America

This position will lead a Team of Engineers and Technicians to design, package, and release, per wire harness specifications to meet program timing. The teams will include Wiring, CAD Design & Packaging, Wiring Debug, IPC Gateway, High Voltage Wiring, I-Speed involving weekly program updates - status, timing, risks.

This process includes:



  • Understanding the program changes.
  • Assigning the mule team members to the project.
  • Understanding which new modules/software/harnesses are required.
  • Establishing the CAD group for packaging design.
  • System Group (IPC) to develop software to operate new modules to surrogate vehicle.
  • Conduct regular review meetings.
  • Attend the prototype build engineering meetings.
  • Review system changes and vehicle adaptation to incorporate modules/harnesses into mule vehicle/architecture.
  • Develop integration modules to bridge surrogate vehicle, (build from) to new program mule vehicle (build to).
  • Populate "I-speed" database to define module interfaces.
  • Work with the suppliers to explain program changes and define delivery timing.
  • Support Mule builds and triage Mule build issues.
  • Regular updates on Mule build status to EHE team.
  • Escalate any roadblocks efficiently.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.


  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in automotive electrical systems with direct involvement in wiring harness design, packaging, release, or vehicle electrical integration.


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineers/technicians and coordinating work across multiple sub-teams and cross-functional stakeholders.


  • Hands-on knowledge of wire harness specifications, drawings, and build/release processes, including change management and issue triage.


  • Experience supporting prototype/mule builds (planning, build support, debugging/triage, and rapid problem resolution).


  • Working knowledge of electrical architecture integration (modules, interfaces, power/ground, network basics) and ability to bridge "build-from" surrogate vehicles to "build-to" program mules.


  • Ability to plan and run regular technical reviews, provide weekly program status (timing, risks, issues), and escalate roadblocks with clear recommendations.


  • Experience working with suppliers to communicate engineering changes and manage part/harness delivery timing to program milestones.


  • Proficiency with common engineering productivity tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and tracking.


  • Ability to work on-site/in-vehicle as needed for build support, including occasional off-hours support during prototype build events.
