Business Unit Leader - General Assembly

The Business Unit Leaderisresponsible formanaging work teams in a fast-paced, high volume, unionized, manufacturing environment. The Business Unit Leaderis responsible forensuring safety,quality,cost,delivery, and moraleduring the shift. The selected candidate willbe requiredto build functional teams, trainandallocatemanpoweraccording to need, ensure team morale and drive continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reachproductionand cost targets. TheBusiness Unit Leader'sresponsibilities will include but are not limited to coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics and implementingStellantis Production Way (SPW) processes and initiatives.Additionalresponsibilities will include but are not limited to thefollowing;



  • Ensure production targets areachieved
  • Manage daily build schedule and model mix to meet schedule and maximize productionefficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employeemorale
  • Lead production team in daily activities, including quality and through-put improvementinitiatives
  • Drive implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) standards and processes
  • Ensure safety regulation compliance and provide a safe working environment foremployees
  • Conduct routine audits to confirmadherence tomanufacturing processesandprocedures
  • Ensure qualitysystems are implemented and functioning per standards;re-establishstandards asneeded
  • Plan for scheduled maintenance whilemaintainingquality and throughputlevels
  • Meet withproduction teamto provide and obtain performancefeedback
  • Work with Supervisors and Team Leaders to develop plans for absenteeismmanagement
  • Facilitate communication between departments, lines, supportfunctions,and internalsuppliers
  • Teach, cultivate, and promote teamwork and problem solving in a positive, proactive workenvironment


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of5years' experiencein ahigh-volumeproduction environment
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Must have ability to work any shift and overtime asrequired
  • Goodinterpersonal skillsandability tointerface withvarious levels ofemployees
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership andcustomers
  • Ability to handle multiple projectssimultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop teammembers
  • Results-oriented self-starter with ability to leadteam
  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and leanmanufacturing
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previousexperience working in a unionshop
  • Production/maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar withLeanManufacturingmethodologyand application of tools
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software programs
