Position summary:

Provide maintenance and technical services for Black Hills Energy's (BHE's) customer heating and cooling programs as well as Black Hills Corporation's (BHC's) internal heating and cooling systems. Provide technical service and support of products and service programs available to the customers.

Pay Range: $49.70 per hour (Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Reporting Relationship: Electric Operations Supervisor, Energy Services

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:
* Provide heating and cooling maintenance support for the ServiceGuard Comfort Plan program. Provide heating and cooling maintenance and installation support for non-ServiceGuard customers as well as for BHC's facilities and electrical substations.
* Prepare estimates for heating and cooling repair and installation services. Ensure invoicing and billing for billable services are completed in a timely manner.
* Promote BHE's demand control program. Provide instructional support, repair, or replacement of demand controller equipment and provide accurate equipment recommendations to customize demand controllers to meet individual customer needs.
* Maintain inventory of replacement parts and equipment necessary to support BHE's heating and cooling installation and repair services.
* Install BHE's power quality products.
* Conduct high bill investigation for residential customers.
* Work safely and participate in the development of departmental safety standards.
* Be actively engaged in BHE's home show events.
* Pursue continuing education opportunities as needed to maintain mechanical and other critical licenses.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Partner with trade allies to support and promote BHE products and services.
* Provide technical training for trade allies, residential customers, and BHE staff.
* Other duties as assigned.

What Is Required:
* Associate's Degree in refrigeration or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 4 years of experience performing installation and service repair of commercial and residential heating and cooling systems
* Must possess appropriate certification for the handling and disbursement of refrigerants per EPA regulations or have the ability to obtain within 180 Days
* Must possess a Rapid City mechanical installer license or have the ability to obtain one within 180 Days
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.

What Is Desired:
* Emphasis on heat pumps, geothermal systems, and electric heating and cooling systems
* Strong understanding of building automation systems as they relate to commercial heating and cooling systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work with customers on a one-to-one basis in a professional manner.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Proficient computer skills and ability to evaluate and document work orders, customer billings, customer job tickets and invoicing.
