POSITION SUMMARY The VP of Finance serves as the organization's senior financial leader, responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring fiscal integrity, and guiding strategic decision-making. This role partners with executive leadership to translate business objectives into financial plans, optimize resource allocation, and support sustainable growth while managing risk and maintaining strong financial controls. In addition, this position leads the accounting function, overseeing all core operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, billing, fixed assets, and month-end close. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards, and the timely preparation of financial statements and reports. The VP of Finance also develops and manages a high-performing finance team, coordinates audits, supports budgeting processes across departments, and plays a key role in financial planning and execution. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on leadership style, strong technical accounting expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

* Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives

* Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team

* Evaluate investments, growth opportunities, and capital allocation decisions

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes

* Monitor financial performance and provide insights on variances and trends

* Develop financial models to support decision-making and scenario planning

3. Accounting & Reporting

* Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements

* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

* Manage external audits and internal controls

4. Cash Flow & Capital Management

* Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital

* Oversee banking relationships and financing activities

* Optimize capital structure and funding strategies

5. Performance & Cost Management

* Analyze cost structures and drive profitability improvements

* Establish KPIs and financial metrics across the organization

* Partner with department leaders to manage budgets and spending

6. Stakeholder Communication

* Present financial results and insights to executive leadership, Board of Directors, and owners.

* Support investor relations, fundraising, and lender communications

7. Team Leadership

* Lead and develop the accounting team

* Implement scalable financial systems and processes

* Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

2. 10+ years of accounting experience is required.

3. Previous credit union or CUSO experience is preferred.

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

4. High integrity.

5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

6. Experience with Microsoft GP/Microsoft Business Central is preferred.

7. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to compete tasks with minimal oversight.

8. Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities, especially under pressure.

9. Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, continuously evolving business environment.

10. Ability to meet multiple deadlines (deadline driven) for multiple organizations.

11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

12. Ability to deal with external clients as well as internal staff

13. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

14. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.

15. Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, fax machines and PC workstation.
