The RN Administrative Coordinator for the Perioperative Education, Training, and Special Projects has responsibility for collaborative development, implementation, and tracking of nurse and employee education, training, and competency assessment systems for the Perioperative Department or assigned area(s), as well as monitoring and oversight of assigned responsibilities as defined by Perioperative leadership. This individual contributes to organizational improvement work, nursing leadership and shared governance structures to achieve organizational priorities. Coordinates with nursing, inter-professional and support services to plan, implement and measure organization-level changes which improve patient safety, clinical efficiency, and clinical quality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire. Master's degree in nursing education strongly preferred. Experience: 3 years of progressive leadership experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required. Perioperative experience in an Academic Medical Center and Magnet organization preferred. Mentoring, training, and coaching experience preferred. Epic experience is highly desired. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver's license required for employees with job responsibility operations in multiple locations. Must have applicable specialty certification at hire or within 3 years. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers, but also may include extended periods of time standing or walking within clinical environments or to attend meetings, and programs. Clinical or didactic instruction requires excellent auditory, visual, and verbal communication skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
