Department OverviewThis role reports into the Video & Software - Portfolio, Business & Systems Operations team. The Portfolio, Business & Systems Operations team is responsible for enabling the success of the wider V&S Product Organization by managing the operating disciplines of the organization. We strive to lower the overall complexity of doing business with MSI as well as enable the organization to move faster in bringing capabilities and solutions to market. The organization looks to guide continual optimization of platforms and cross organizational processes and improve visibility to the leadership team on how the business is operating. Job Description

The Portfolio Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that our new V&S offers are viable, profitable and align to our overall company strategy. They will lead a team of portfolio managers who work specifically on crafting what the commercial offers look like, establish sound business plans and identify Quote to Service flows and challenges for those offers. The Portfolio Team Lead will need to align closely with cross functional business unit leads to understand their challenges and provide guidance to the portfolio managers on how best to align. They will need to ensure that the overall portfolio roadmap and timing will help the business and GTM team achieve their objectives.

Additionally, the Portfolio Team Lead is responsible for looking across the wider V&S product offerings to understand where there could be offering overlaps or gaps. They should also look to make sure that cross product team initiatives are tracked and see where there could be improvements to these overall end to end processes. Due to this wide view across the portfolio, the Portfolio Team Lead is also responsible for setting overall offer guidelines, how an offer should be structured, how many feature tiers should it include and what is our overall renewal approach.

Success in this role is ensuring that Product Management leadership feels confident in the overall GTM strategy for what they are developing, that finance/leadership understands the financial benefits of our portfolio of offers and is aligned with the Launch Team on what inputs they need to be successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategy for the V&S Portfolio Management group, providing direction on offers, defining roadmap timing and aligning with product management leadership

  • Monitors overall progress of initiatives to assure accountability and discipline

  • Provides prioritization guidance on competing offers to balance the company's resources versus financial gain

  • Provides guidance to on offer structures to ensure the best customer experiences

  • Guides the most effective way of going to market for an offer, balancing back end system limitations with the processes our GTM teams use today

  • Ensures the effective flow of senior leadership approvals on specific offers

  • Provides early visibility to partner teams of upcoming offers to help with capacity planning and prioritization

  • Ensures cross portfolio awareness of offers to understand where overlaps or feature leverage can occur

  • Leads execution of key cross-functional strategic initiatives for the wider V&S organization

Requirement:

  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in portfolio or product management with a Bachelor's degree; Masters degree is a plus

  • Strong understanding of public safety software outside of North America

  • Strong understanding of financial cost models and business plans

  • Understanding of ERP or quote to cash systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to understand and communicate the big picture while being able to be detail-oriented about execution

  • Self-motivated, results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Able to navigate a highly-matrixed organization and gain trust with leaders across multiple layers

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD.
