THE POSITION

The Management Technician position with the Pennsylvania State Police offers an exciting chance to support vital fleet operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports fleet operations by managing records, reviewing repair information, and maintaining accurate system data. The work helps ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and ready for service. As a Management Technician, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Management: Administer the fleet inventory system by entering maintenance data, adjusting system settings, and generating requested reports
  • Repair Review: Examine vendor repair estimates and confirm that parts, costs, and services follow required standards
  • Data Entry: Record detailed repair information into the risk management database for all assigned vehicles
  • Vehicle Processing: Prepare vehicles for auction, complete necessary paperwork, and track inoperable vehicles awaiting disposal
  • Fuel Card Oversight: Respond to compromised fuel card inquiries and file required affidavits when needed
  • Inventory Handling: Process automotive inventory paperwork for new vehicles and update coding, fuel cards, and license plates as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • FREE parking!
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • One year of experience reading auto repair estimates and service invoices

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
