DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will help keep department operations running smoothly by supporting building, equipment, and structure maintenance. The work includes learning trade skills, assisting experienced staff, and completing hands on tasks in the field. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Light Construction: Carry out tasks such as framing, painting, drywall work, and cabinetry to support building and structure needs
- Tool Operation: Use hand tools and power tools to complete assigned labor and help keep equipment in good condition
- Equipment Care: Make minor repairs, perform basic maintenance, and complete field adjustments to maintain safe operation of tools and machinery
- Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures, stay aware of hazards, and report incidents to support a safe work environment
- Project Support: Assist higher level staff with planning, estimating, and constructing a variety of buildings and drainage structures
- Environmental Compliance: Carry out environmental protection steps and meet training requirements for maintenance work activities

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours may vary for winter operations.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
