This is a full-time, onsite, Lab Tech 1 position located in Oakdale, MN,Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Job Summary

The Lab Technician performs routine laboratory tests and analyses following established procedures to support environmental and industrial testing services. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and quality of analytical data.

Job Responsibilities

* Prepare samples for analysis according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges, pH meters, and spectrophotometers.
* Perform basic chemical and physical tests on samples, accurately recording all data and observations.
* Document all work meticulously in laboratory notebooks and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
* Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and quality control guidelines.
* Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
* Perform routine equipment calibration and preventative maintenance as required.
* Identify and report any deviations from established procedures or potential quality issues to a supervisor.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Participate in training and proficiency testing programs.

Job Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) preferred.
* Previous laboratory experience, either academic or professional, is highly desirable.
* Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices and chemical handling.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs precisely.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
* Proficient with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office setting. Work is subject chemicals, fumes, gases, noxious odors and related items in a lab and samples setting.
