Role Objective

We are seeking a well-rounded commercial attorney with significant commercial contracting experience to support the Clorox Purell business. While this role provides the opportunity to work on a wide variety of matters, your primary focus will be structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. In this role you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and act as a proactive business partner offering practical legal solutions to complex commercial issues.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad variety of commercial contracts, including customer contracts and supplier/service provider contracts
  • Provide legal and business advice to assist teams in structuring and establishing strategic commercial arrangements
  • Collaborate closely with business units, project teams, and management within the enterprise to provide pragmatic legal advice and commercial contract support
  • Apply legal expertise, business acumen, and strategic thinking to help the enterprise seize opportunities and solve complex business challenges
  • Advise internal stakeholders on risks and related mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and standard clauses to improve efficiency within the legal department
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategies and processes for the legal department
  • Support general legal matters and participate in enterprise projects as needed
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations impacting the enterprise
  • Manage and/or coordinate with outside counsel

Education and Experience

Required:



  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law
  • Minimum four (4) years of commercial transaction experience in the corporatearea of a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Significant experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Broad general legal background
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to translate legal concepts into practical advice for non-lawyers
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills


Preferred:



  • Prior in-house experience
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Experience with regulated products (e.g., FDA and EPA)
  • Significant experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial contracts related to the purchase and sale of goods and services

Supervision/Coordination

  • Guidance and direction is provided by the Senior Legal Counsel and Director of Legal
  • May coordinate projects or teams on an as needed basis. Coordinates with external resources. Influences others within the organization who do not report to the position

Travel Requirements
Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
Compensation & Benefits

The expected starting pay for this role is between 122,700.00 - 168,700.00 per year. Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
