The US LBM Assembly Safety Specialist's primary objective is to protect and enhance the safety of our associates within the market through prevention, fostering a culture of caring where safety, health and environment are ingrained as a core value in support of operations and overall company success. This role will deliver consistent safety presence, coaching, training, auditing, and risk reduction across multiple facilities. This person sets the local safety, health, and environmental strategies for overall success in alignment with corporate policy and common practices. Pay Range: $65k+
What you will do
Ensures the rollout and completion of safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures. Advise the company's operations team on safety issues and compliance. Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment. Preform audits and observation programs and develop corrective actions with local leadership. Lead accident investigations and review injuries/incidents to identify trends and mitigate future occurrences. Promote a proactive, accountable safety culture grounded in peer coaching and location leadership involvement. Host and track safety committee progress and goals to ensure they are aligned and impactful. Conduct daily floor walks and correct Hazards and at-risk behaviors in real time. Execute and deliver safety training for core topics including but not limited to; Ergonomics, LOTO, machine guarding, hand and power tool safety, hazcom, PIT, new hire orientation and other relevant topics to the location(s). Build working relationships with supervisors, leaders, and production associates.

Education Qualifications
Experience Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a safety, environmental or health role within general industry. Background in ergonomics, truss and wall panel building, equipment operations. Prior experience applying ergonomics, health, and/or safety in the building materials industry a plus. Prior OSHA Compliance experience required.
Skills and Abilities
Strong Working Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills. Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable organizational change. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships capable of delivering desired results. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence across a diverse range of people from Corporate /Division leadership to a frontline associate. Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically and quickly transition between the two. Good technical understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental issues and their relationship to production/engineering and job functions as it relates to building in prevention. Strong demonstrated verbal / written communications, analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be detailed and results oriented. Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical issues in lay terms. Ability to achieve results through dotted line reporting structure. Must be able to wear all appropriate PPE including hard hat, vests, gloves, footwear, and infrequent use of masks. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Professional certifications in Safety, Health, and Environmental related fields are beneficial and may include CIH, NEBOSH, CSP, ASP, CEM, etc.
