Our Residential, Roll-Off, and Commercial Route Supervisors are eligible for a quarterly bonus of up to $3,500, recognizing your commitment to operational excellence and keeping both our employees and communities safe.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Route Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily service operations. This position ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective waste collection while delivering a "Distinguishably Different" customer experience. You'll lead drivers using Waste Pro's Core Values and Positive Leadership principles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead Daily Operations: Supervise drivers, coordinate routes, and ensure smooth day-to-day service delivery
- Champion Safety: Enforce safety protocols, conduct inspections, and lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment
- Optimize Routes: Monitor productivity (yardage, tonnage, hauls) and adjust routes to maximize efficiency and control costs
- Support Your Team: Conduct ride-alongs, provide coaching, identify training needs, and onboard new hires
- Deliver Excellent Service: Resolve customer concerns, coordinate service changes, and maintain strong relationships with municipalities
- Ensure Compliance: Oversee DOT regulations, driver logs, inspections, and company policies
- Manage Equipment & Maintenance: Track vehicle issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
- Handle Reporting: Complete accident reports, performance evaluations, and operational documentation
- Step In When Needed: Assist on routes or cover driver shortages to keep operations running smoothly

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, management, or the waste industry
OR Associate's Degree with at least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations, including routing, coaching, and team supervision - Working knowledge of Smith System and/or Decision Driving safety principles preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire
- Clean driving record that meets company and insurance standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and handle multiple priorities
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and on-call responsibilities as needed
- Positive, professional attitude when interacting with employees, customers, and leadership
- First aid knowledge is a plus
