Assistant Regional Controller - Waste Pro (West Palm Beach) Waste Pro is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Regional Controller to join our growing team in West Palm Beach. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities within a dynamic regional operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Regional Controller in overseeing all accounting and financial activities for the region
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Partner with operations leadership to drive financial performance and cost efficiency
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA/BBA) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CPA-track preferred
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
- Prior experience in the waste, transportation, or service-based industry strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Ability to balance independent work with cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Great Plains, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar)
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, FRx, or comparable platforms
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Willingness to travel up to 25-50% within the region
