Job Title: New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer

Location:Keosauqua, IA

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a New Product Development / Design to Value (NPD/DTV) Engineer to be responsible for New Product Development (NPD) of refrigerated merchandisers, as well as Design to Value (DTV) cost reduction efforts on the existing product lines.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Leading projects focused on the design, evaluation, and product launch of specialty refrigerated merchandisers.
  • Represents NPD engineering on cross functional teams.
  • Manage DTV projects from concept to completion.
  • Support identification and scoping of new and innovative solutions to achieve the product market specification.
  • Oversee the development of CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts.
  • Develop test plans and work with the Engineering Lab to validate solutions.
  • Conduct field tests as required to validate solutions.
  • Support identification and scoping of cost saving projects on the existing products.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Unrestricted US work authorization.

What are the preferred qualifications?

  • 2+ years of refrigeration or HVAC industry experience
  • 2+ years applying heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluids, and refrigeration skills to the solving of engineering problems
  • 2D & 3D CAD experience
  • Sheet metal solid modeling experience
  • FEA or CFD experience
  • Project management experience

  • Strong desire to engage in both NPD and DTV projects.
  • Engineering aptitude to learn heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluids, and refrigeration
  • Innovative mind with ability to generate solutions to customer needs
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience with simulation tools: FEA for structural, thermal and fluid flow analysis
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
