Position Summary: Occupational Therapist Community Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center



Full-time outpatient position at the Community Psychiatry Program (CPP), located on Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center campus.



  • Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Inpatient Manager
  • Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the occupational limitations and medical condition of patients
  • Prescribes and implements a treatment program which is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function
  • Works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
  • Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care
  • Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the organization


Shift: Full-time - 40 hours per week - 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 - 4:00 p.m. - 1 -2 Holidays a year

Education:



  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science, Master's Degree, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited academic program.



Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:



  • Current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist required
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR required


Work Experience:



  • 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience preferred. Pediatric and mental health occupational therapy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of clinical internships as required by the academic program
  • This position carries an outpatient caseload with a wide variety of mental health patients via individual or group therapy interventions to address cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social goals. In addition to outpatient mental health, this role also involves working with an interdisciplinary team within an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents, providing group-based Occupational Therapy. Job requirements include evaluations, consultations, and treatment within sub-clinics including but not limited to adult psych outpatient, child psych outpatient, and Autism & Intellectual Developmental Disabilities.

Salary Range: Minimum $37.02/hour - Maximum $61.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
