We have offices in The Woodlands, Texas and Bridgewater, New Jersey.

We are seeking a highly collaborative, knowledgeable and results focused Manager of Financial Reporting for our Woodlands office. This is a hybrid role.

Job Summary:

The Manager of Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for the preparation of company-wide external financial statements and disclosures for SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, as well as xBRL reporting. The role also supports the research and implementation of new accounting pronouncements and provides technical accounting analysis for business transactions and other ad hoc matters. In addition, this position contributes to monthly internal financial reporting activities.

The Manager of Financial Reporting interacts with all levels of management and is expected to lead by example through strong technical expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. Responsibilities also include partnering with external auditors, supporting and providing leadership for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities, and assisting with documentation and support related to federal income tax returns.

Key Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Prepares and reviews external financial reports for governmental and regulatory agencies, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and other SEC filings (e.g., proxy); prepares and maintains xBRL financial reporting requirements
  • Prepares supporting schedules and footnote disclosures required for public filings
  • Reviews monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statements, and related materials
  • Provides technical accounting research and analysis; oversees review and interpretation of new and proposed accounting regulations
  • Liaises with external auditors as part of the financial reporting and SOX audit processes
  • Provides leadership and technical guidance for SOX compliance; assesses risks and develops control processes to ensure compliance
  • Monitors strategies to remedy SOX deficiencies; reports on status and communicates gaps to executive team
  • Prepares documentation for tax provision and federal/state income tax returns for third-party preparer; assists with review of returns filed by third-party preparer
  • Completes certain monthly journal entries (e.g., stock-based compensation) and quarterly disclosure for share-based awards
  • Completes ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA required (unless extensive public company/SEC filing exposure)
  • 4-6 years of public accounting experience or 5-8 years of industry experience with SEC exposure required
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, IF statements) with demonstrated ability to independently build work papers and analyze financial data
  • Proficient in GAAP; experienced in performing accounting research and reviewing SEC filings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization
  • Resourceful and proactive with strong detail orientation, analytical skills, and ability to drive projects forward
