I. POSITION INFORMATION




Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University Department of Pharmacology & Physiology is an active research department with federally funded programs in neuroscience and development, cardiovascular pharmacology and integrative physiology, genomics, and oncology. It offers unique pre- and postdoctoral biomedical research training, teaches Pharmacology and Physiology to Medical and Physician Assistant students, and provides graduate courses through the GW Institute for Biomedical Sciences. Its mission is to deliver high- quality education, advance scientific knowledge, and improve human health through cutting-edge biomedical research.

The Postdoctoral researcher will lead a project focusing on dopaminergic mechanisms of executive dysfunction in Parkinson's disease. They will plan and perform experiments to advance this project, analyze and interpret data, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, write grants and fellowship proposals and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for the award of a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field by the date of employment.
Desired Qualifications:
PhD in Neuroscience or a related field
Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work with a team.
- Experience in operant behavioral tasks, fiber photometry, and/or slice electrophysiology is desired
Hiring Range $62,232 to $70,000
