Overview

To manage, direct, implement and oversee Navy Federal's membership acquisition, engagement and retention strategies. Oversees the production and delivery of high-quality analyses that enable senior and executive leaders to better understand member demographics, behavior, trends, and make decisions to achieve strategic goals. Lead cross-organizational teams that facilitate the creation, launch and implementation of solutions to improve new member engagement, retention and satisfaction. Oversee and perform complex/varied tasks with considerable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation and launch of acquisition strategies consistent with goals to grow membership, improve engagement, and minimize impact on operations
  • Oversee the design and development of monitoring tools and financial metrics capable of measuring and optimizing the success and effectiveness of membership drives
  • Optimize business operation performance by analyzing current and forecasting future performance through the application of various advanced and complex analytical techniques to support strategic initiatives
  • Interpret and validate analytics, scenario results and financial impacts used to inform senior management decisions
  • Lead business case and analytical studies to estimate return on investment, revenue, and potential growth models
  • Lead or participate in organization-wide project teams; monitor projects assigned to the department and ensure milestones are completed on schedule
  • Oversee the timely and accurate production of reports completed by the analysts team including board package reports
  • Lead the completion and presentation of the Capital Plan Stress Test Projections for Membership
  • Lead forecasting efforts associated with the Annual Financial Plan to include new memberships, closures, and incentive budget
  • Support the Operations and Outreach teams to establish, monitor, assess, and improve key performance indicators, reporting and analyses
  • Assist in leading and build partnerships and promote cross-functional collaboration with business units (products and channels) to ensure successful launch and implementation of membership initiatives
  • Stay informed of business environment and associated market trends as they relate to acquisition, engagement and retention strategies
  • Oversee the creation and review of executive presentations that highlight strategic initiatives delivered in various forums such as board meetings and planning committees
  • Direct discovery and analysis of existing processes and key controls, and identify future internal control trends or new standards
  • Manage the maintenance of databases to achieve efficiencies, reduce operational risk and ensure accurate and timely analysis and reporting
  • Oversee timely reporting to support the development of commentary and guidance for senior management
  • Act as AVP in the incumbent's absence
  • Performs managerial responsibilities:
  • Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
  • Establish performance goals and priorities
  • Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisals
  • Develop, mentor and counsel staff
  • Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
  • Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy Ensure efficiency of operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a strategic thinker who influences business decisions at the senior leadership level
  • In depth and advanced knowledge of data sources (e.g. IDW and EDW), data extraction tools (e.g. Cognos and SQL), and data manipulation packages (e.g. JPM and SPSS)
  • Ability to communicate highly complex technical concepts to non-technical and senior staff
  • Experience managing projects which involve organization, holding strategy and status meetings, planning and directing the work of participants, resolving conflicting requests, meeting changing requirements and priorities, and accomplishing project goals
  • Experience in progressively responsible positions which reflect the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, solve problems, display a high degree of initiative, and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and gain credibility and trust within those partnerships
  • Proficiency with PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and reporting software
  • Advanced research, querying, data mining, analysis, and reporting skills, including proficiency in sophisticated statistical methods and modeling, forecasting, and cost/benefit/risk analysis
  • Successful experience as a leader in a data / analytically driven environment with expert level analytics/quantitative skills
  • Advanced skills to successfully influence, lead and/or guide others towards goals
  • Advanced leadership skills and the ability to guide others to achieve desired results in a multi-tasked, time sensitive office environment
  • Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience leading cross-organizational and large initiatives/campaigns
  • Advanced knowledge of NFCU's functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
  • Advanced knowledge of analytics techniques used in the financial industry, specifically in the areas of Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Data Mining
  • Experience dealing, presenting and persuading senior leadership
  • Advanced experience with credit union financials and/or NCUA regulations
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
