IDEXX is seeking a Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and decision support across key Technology and Innovation functions, including Global Information Technology and Research & Development. This role partners closely with senior leaders to support planning, investment prioritization, portfolio management, and operational performance, while strengthening financial insight, governance, and resource alignment in support of enterprise priorities.

As a trusted finance business partner, the Finance Manager will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and modeling across a dynamic portfolio of functional and investment activities. This role combines strategic support with strong operational execution and will help enhance enterprise-wide spend visibility, investment discipline, and business performance across supported areas.

Location: This role is required to be onsite 8 days per month at our Westbrook, Maine headquarters.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • You will serve as the primary finance business partner to leaders across Global Information Technology and Research & Development, providing financial insights and decision support to advance strategic priorities.
  • You will lead and support core finance processes, including monthly close, forecasting, annual budget, and strategic planning.
  • You will develop financial models, business cases, and investment analyses, including cost-benefit analysis, NPV, ROI, IRR, payback, and risk-adjusted value assessment.
  • You will improve enterprise-wide visibility into Technology and Digital spend, including software, SaaS, AI, and functionally embedded technology investments.
  • You will support value-based investment prioritization and portfolio optimization across Commercial, Operations, and Innovation initiatives.
  • You will establish and enhance financial governance for AI and digital investments, including tracking business value, productivity gains, and variable consumption costs.
  • You will partner on vendor and external partner economics, including make-versus-buy analyses, benchmarking, contract value realization, and scale efficiencies.
  • You will improve transparency across run, improve, and transform activities to support self-funding of digital and AI transformation.
  • You will create and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and data platforms; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages with clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • You will drive process improvement, capital expense management, internal control support, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen financial discipline and decision-making.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Progressive experience in finance, including financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and business partnering.
  • Experience supporting technology, IT, R&D, engineering, software, digital, or other innovation-focused functions preferred.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of investment evaluation methodologies, including NPV, ROI, IRR, payback, scenario analysis, and broader return modeling.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both a strategic and detailed level in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong business partnership, communication, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and financial systems, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, OneStream, and other reporting, planning, or portfolio management tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI capabilities and emerging digital tools, including their financial implications, productivity opportunities, and cost structures, preferred.
