Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Shipping and Receiving Associate performs manual and clerical duties related to the receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products. This role is responsible for verifying incoming shipments, preparing outgoing orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are routed appropriately within the facility. The ideal candidate has experience operating powered warehouse equipment, including an electric sit-down forklift, and demonstrates strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities




  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and verify shipments against receiving documentation



  • Inspect incoming goods for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies



  • Gather, verify, package, and prepare items for shipment according to specifications and transportation requirements



  • Complete written and computerized shipping and receiving documentation accurately and timely



  • Route materials, supplies, and equipment to designated inspection, storage, or production areas



  • Operate powered warehouse equipment, including an electric sit-down forklift and hydraulic jack lift, in a safe manner



  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment while following safety procedures



  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding shipping and receiving activities



  • Assist with inventory control and material handling as needed




Job Requirements




  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience



  • Minimum of 1 year of shipping and receiving or related warehouse experience required



  • Experience operating an electric sit-down forklift required



  • Forklift certification preferred



  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record may be required



  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required



  • Knowledge of standard shipping and receiving procedures



  • Ability to handle routine tasks and resolve basic exceptions independently



  • Effective verbal communication and organizational skills



  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly



  • Ability to operate powered warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
