Position Overview
ISPA Technology LLC is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced marine and mechanical systems. This role will focus on mechanical design, structural analysis, prototyping, and engineering documentation for ocean-based technologies and related hardware systems.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on engineering experience and is comfortable independently solving technical challenges in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for marine and industrial applications.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity, stress, vibration, fatigue, and overall performance.
- Develop detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation using CAD software.
- Lead or contribute to mechanical design decisions, technical reviews, and engineering trade studies.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate mechanical solutions into larger systems.
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- Evaluate materials, manufacturing methods, and vendor capabilities.
- Ensure designs and engineering documentation meet applicable standards and quality requirements.
- Support field testing, system integration, and deployment activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical design and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Strong drafting experience, including detailed part and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Creo, or similar CAD platforms.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to independently manage engineering tasks and resolve complex technical problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Active Secret security clearance.
