The University of Virginia Career Center(UCC)seeks aCareer Events Associatetosupport events planningwithin the UCC Shared Services Team.The mission of the University of Virginia Career Center is to engage and support students in the discovery and pursuit of meaningful lives.Reporting to theAssociateDirector of Events &Marketing,theCareer Events Associatewill support career fairs and programs that foster career development. Working Hours: Primarily between 9 AM - 5 PM with some scheduling flexibility; evening hours required during the week and will be scheduled in advance. Rate: $23.00 hour for 30 hours per week In the UVA Career Center, the Career Events Assistant will:
Ideal candidate would have these skills: event planning experience, excellent oral and written communication, strong organization and time management skills; administrative, financial purchasing and customer service experience; UVA affiliation or past UVA work experience is a plus. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of education, experience, and/or certifications in lieu of degree requirement. Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee will be required to lift various weights, climb ladders and stairs in order to complete jobs.
