Summary:
A n experienced quality technician t hat will perform various quality-related functions and support quality efforts throughout the company. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and has no direct reports.
Essential Job Functions (Job-Specific Knowledge/Skills)
  • Must know how to measure using surface plate layouts.
  • Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
  • Must have basic calibration knowledge.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.
  • Must have knowledge of testing methods.
  • Must be able to identify and report nonconforming material.
  • Must understand traceability (product, material and calibration).
  • Must know which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; must understand the concept of standards traceability for M&TE.
  • Must understand and be able to apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans; must be able to read and interpret blueprints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Must understand and be able to apply various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.
  • Must understand and be able to apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
  • Must have the ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software.
Qualifications (Expertise in Discipline)
  • Associates Degree from two-year College or technical school, or 3+ years equivalent work experience and/or training. Additional certification by a professional organization, (CQT, CQE) a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of ISO9001:2015 with some experience performing internal audits.
  • Able to read and interpret part drawing or process specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence while utilizing Microsoft software tools.(excel, teams)
  • Experience working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry preferred.
  • Basic CMM programing/operations a plus.

Work is performed indoors. Indoor areas are generally well lit. Temperature/humidity can vary greatly depending on weather, ranging from 60 o to 100 o F. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
