Overview
The People Strategies and Solutions (HR) team at UW Credit Union is growing, we're looking to add a Strategic Talent Partner to our team! The Strategic Talent Partner is a strategic advisor, consultant, and embedded partner who plays a critical role in advancing UW Credit Union's people strategy. This role is designed for an experienced HR professional who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and talent strategy, and who is motivated by shaping high-performing, engaged, and inclusive teams. As a member of the People Strategies & Solutions (PSS) team, you will partner directly with divisional leaders while remaining deeply connected to a broader HR function committed to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. The PSS team serves as a strategic resource across UWCU, focused on creating an environment where employees can grow, feel engaged, and do meaningful work. In this role, you will leverage data, insights, and strong relationships to influence decision-making, anticipate talent needs, and drive outcomes that support both the employee experience and organizational success. Responsibilities
Strategic Talent Partnership & Workforce Planning
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, aligning talent strategies with business priorities and helping leaders navigate complex organizational and people-related decisions.
- Proactively identify talent opportunities and risks, using curiosity and data to guide leaders in closing gaps and strengthening team effectiveness.
- Translate people analytics into actionable insights, informing decisions around retention, engagement, team structure, and workforce planning.
- Lead and facilitate talent planning, succession planning, and workforce strategy discussions, ensuring readiness for future business needs.
- Partner with leaders to design career frameworks, job structures, and development pathways that support internal mobility and long-term engagement.
- Support leadership development through 360 feedback, coaching, and partnership with Learning & Development, strengthening leadership capabilities across the organization.
- Facilitate performance calibration processes to drive consistency, fairness, and alignment.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to align hiring strategies with workforce plans, and participate in leadership hiring to ensure alignment with UWCU values and culture.
- Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles into all talent strategies and decisions.
Organizational Change & Transformation
- Partner with leaders to plan and execute change strategies that support organizational initiatives and evolving business needs.
- Act as a change consultant, ensuring leaders are equipped to communicate effectively, engage stakeholders, and drive adoption.
- Partner across HR functions to design and deliver learning and communication strategies that support change initiatives.
- Use feedback, metrics, and ongoing insights to evaluate change effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives by identifying people-related risks, dependencies, and opportunities
PSS Team & Organizational Leadership
- Operate as a collaborative member of the PSS team, contributing to enterprise initiatives and advancing UWCU's people strategy.
- Provide coaching, consultation, and guidance on employee relations, talent planning, and the overall employee experience.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of employment law, HR practices, and evolving industry trends to ensure sound, compliant decision-making.
- Partner with People Technology to leverage systems, dashboards, and insights that enhance decision-making and efficiency.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, simplify workflows, and enhance the employee experience.
- Invest in your own growth and maintain external networks to bring forward emerging best practices and innovative ideas.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field required.
- 6 - 7 years' experience in progressive experience in Human Resources leadership or Human Resources Business Partner position required.
- PHR/SHRM/AIHR certification preferred.
Skills
- Solid knowledge of policies, practices and laws pertaining to HR administration as evidenced by PHR or SPHR certification is required.
- Ability to solve problems or answer questions with the use of data.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to develop a high performing PSS Team.
- Strong interpersonal communication, outstanding ability to influence and build relationships, and creative problem-solving skills.

- Ability to demonstrate agility and sound judgment.
