YOUR ROLE

As a Application Engineering Supervisor on our team, you'll serve as the technical leader for the Stellantis account within a sales-led organization, with direct responsibility for Aptiv's Connection Systems portfolio, including connectors, terminals, harness interfaces, and related electrical distribution solutions. This role drives alignment between engineering execution and commercial objectives to ensure customer satisfaction, flawless program launches, and sustained business growth.

The position acts as both the internal voice of Stellantis and the primary external technical interface, ensuring Aptiv's connection systems are effectively applied, specified, and integrated into customer vehicle architectures. The supervisor influences product selection, supports platform standardization, and drives adoption of Aptiv technologies across Stellantis programs.

In your daily job you will:

Customer & Commercial Alignment

  • Partner with Sales Director to define account strategy and growth initiatives
  • Serve as the primary technical interface to Stellantis
  • Lead and support RFQs, proposals, and technical presentations

Program Execution

  • Lead programs from development through production launch
  • Ensure adherence to Stellantis specifications, milestones, and timing
  • Drive issue resolution and prioritize engineering workload

Metrics & Reporting

  • Deliver weekly engineering status updates and KPIs
  • Track launch readiness, risks, issues, and change management

Quality & Issue Management

  • Lead response to quality and warranty issues
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor Application Engineers
  • Set priorities and ensure accountability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Operations

Strategic Leadership

  • This role connects technical execution with business growth by bridging product development, customer needs, and market insights. Success requires optimizing engineering capability, defining performance metrics, and building strong cross-functional partnerships.

Align Technology with Commercial Objectives

  • Translate complex products into deployable customer solutions
  • Influence product roadmap based on customer feedback
  • Maintain competitive and market intelligence

Optimize Team Performance and KPIs

  • Identify skill gaps and drive development plans
  • Balance short-term customer needs with long-term initiatives
  • Track KPIs: issue resolution, launch readiness, quality, customer satisfaction

Drive Cross-Functional Synergy

  • Partner with Sales and R&D on growth and innovation
  • Enable technical upselling opportunities
  • Standardize engineering processes and tools

Success Metrics

  • Stellantis customer satisfaction
  • Revenue growth and program support
  • On-time and successful program launches
  • Responsiveness and effectiveness of issue resolution
  • Team performance and development

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • 8-10+ years of automotive engineering experience; OEM experience, Stellantis strongly preferred
  • 2-3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Strong technical, commercial, and customer-facing acumen; excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; results-driven with high accountability
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
