Job Summary

The Distribution Center Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations related to the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products. This role requires an individual who can quickly integrate into warehouse operations and work efficiently in a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate has prior warehouse experience, forklift operating experience, and a strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory handling, and material movement processes.

Job Responsibilities



  • Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against shipping documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quantity, and condition.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures and transportation requirements.
  • Operate stand-up forklifts and electric rider pallet jacks (electric RCs) to move materials safely throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks while adhering to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
  • Transport materials, supplies, and equipment to designated storage, inspection, or staging areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through written and computerized documentation.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems and related technology to support inventory and shipping activities.
  • Use RF scanners and scan guns to process inventory transactions and material movements when applicable.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, cycle counts, and stock organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, warehouse procedures, and quality standards.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, distribution center, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience required.
  • Forklift certification required or ability to provide proof of recent certification.
  • Experience operating stand-up forklifts required.
  • Experience operating electric rider pallet jacks (electric RCs) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory handling, shipping, and receiving processes.
  • Experience using RF scanners or scan guns preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred but not required.
  • Ability to accurately complete written and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and quickly adapt to operational needs.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to warehouse safety procedures.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Experience



  • At least 1 year of related warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, inventory, or material handling experience required.
  • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment required.
  • Experience with inventory tracking systems, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems preferred.
