What You Will Do:
- Designs, installs, supports and maintains VNS Health network infrastructures according to best practices, including routers, firewalls, switches and IPS/IDS.
- Assists in running the day-to-day operations, engineering, and architecture of the Data networks.
- Configures, implements and supports WAN/LAN/Wireless/VPN network architecture, which includes manages routing protocols, documentation, and network diagrams.
- Prioritizes tasks based on urgent and highly-sensitive client needs and manages appropriate/realistic expectations to ensure overall client satisfaction. * Configures IPSec VPN tunnels, IP communication, and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Assists in formalizing and updating security policies, procedures and technical standards and auditing/monitoring compliance with those standards.
- Maximizes network availability by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Works with both internal and external vendors, carriers, and clients, to add or modify network connectivity; troubleshoots and identifies sources of problems and brings issues to resolution as needed.
- Analyzes industry standards, open source platforms and vendor tools with an emphasis on cloud portability and interoperability. Recommends integration into VNS Health as appropriate.
- Assesses information security and applicable compliance requirements. Researches, recommends, designs and implements necessary solutions/tools to meet these requirements.
- Stay abreast of current technologies, developments, network compliance requirements, standards and industry trends.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Occasional after-hours change management and weekend support
Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience required Cisco certification (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA) preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum five years of IT network engineering experience in a Cisco environment required
- Hands-on experience working with complex, high performance networks with multiple sites (data centers) and demonstrated understanding of SD WAN technologies required
- Significant knowledge of client-server architectures and network design required
- Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS/NxOS, Load Balancers, Cisco ASA, Catalysts Series switches and other network operating systems required
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems required
- Knowledgeable of routing protocols including TCP/IP BGP, OSPF, MSDP and PIM and experience with VPNs including IPSEC, GRE required
- Strong verbal/written communication skills required
- Experience configuring and deploying Palo Alto network devices required
- Strong understanding of WAN/LAN/Wireless and transport technologies (Ethernet, MPLS) required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Visio required
- Scripting and programming experience, design and support of virtualization experience, and cloud infrastructure experience/knowledge required
Pay Range
USD $85,000.00 - USD $106,300.00 /Yr.
