Scope of Position

The Production Lab Technician performs quality control testing, chemical blending, and inprocess testing activities in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position supports product quality, compliance, and environmental stewardship by ensuring raw materials, inprocess chemistry, and finished products meet defined specifications, customer requirements, and applicable GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.

This position partners closely with quality, engineering, warehouse, and supply chain teams to address quality issues, assist with the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and support ongoing product and process improvements.

This position reports to the Operations Leader. This role is on-site and is based in Fort Myers, FL.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately complete batch records, test records, and quality documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 document control requirements.
  • Support internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), deviation investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and traceability for all testing, blending, and production activities.
  • Sample and test incoming raw materials to verify conformance with supplier Certificates of Analysis (COA) and internal specifications.
  • Confirm material identity, quality, and compliance prior to release for use in production.
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming materials in accordance with quality system procedures.
  • Accurately measure, weigh, mix, and blend large volumes of liquid and dry chemicals according to approved formulations and batch instructions.
  • Operate, monitor, and document use of blending, transfer, and production equipment.
  • Ensure correct labeling, segregation, and traceability of raw materials, intermediates, and finished batches.
  • Perform quality testing on bulk liquid and dry chemical batches to verify conformance to established specifications.
  • Conduct inprocess quality checks during manufacturing to ensure chemistry consistency, concentration, and physical properties.
  • Perform realtime quality testing as chemistry is dispensed into bottles, ensuring compliance prior to final packaging.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and waste in accordance with environmental regulations and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Actively support pollution prevention, waste reduction, and safe chemical handling initiatives.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and inspectionready lab and production areas.
  • Foster strong partnerships with quality, engineering, warehouse, and supply chain teams.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Operations Leader or Company management.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or completed coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related scientific field required
  • 2 + years of handson experience in a chemistry lab, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Demonstrated experience working under GMP and ISObased quality systems
  • Strong understanding of chemical handling, laboratory testing, and quality control principles.
  • Experience performing analytical and physical testing of liquid and dry chemicals.
  • Experience working under analytical laboratory hygiene standards.
  • Ability to interpret COAs, specifications, batch instructions, and SOPs.
  • Ability to accurately interpret visual indicators, including colorbased test results and observable changes in chemical powders or reactions, as required for quality control and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and test methods relevant to chemical manufacturing.
  • Strong documentation, recordkeeping, and data accuracy skills.
  • Comfort working with industrial equipment and chemical processing systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Safety and compliancefocused mindset.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within production and quality teams.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting results, documenting work, and escalating issues.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related scientific field

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Fort Myers location in Fort Myers, Florida. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with chemical exposure
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically move throughout the office, chemistry lab and production floor in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish and interpret visual indicators, including color changes, patterns, or contrasts, as required for performing job related testing, evaluation, and quality control functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
  • Ability to lift, carry and handle chemical containers and raw materials up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses, and follow strict safety protocols
