SUMMARY:

The Engineering Aide (Intern) will work directly with Government personnel in meeting technical needs of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Works closely with Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands-on involvement in project planning and execution.
* Assists Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipment.
* Collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentations.
* Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directed.
* Organizes and maintains engineering documents and records.
* Provides technical support to other departments as required.
* Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
* Provides general administrative support to the engineering team as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

* Current enrollment, in good standing, with an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Demonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and tools.
* Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis.
* Prior experience working in a laboratory field-test environment or with the concepts of T&E preferred.
* Familiarity with engineering standards and tools preferred.

Work is typically performed in a controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

May require lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
