Partnering with Aquent, a prominent energy utility is undertaking a significant infrastructure modernization initiative, focused on enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of its core mapping systems. This organization is dedicated to providing reliable and essential services, leveraging advanced technology to manage its vast network.

Are you a meticulous GIS professional with a passion for data integrity and critical infrastructure mapping? We are seeking a talented individual to join our client's Steam Services team and play a pivotal role in transforming their geospatial data management. In this exciting contract opportunity, you will directly contribute to the accuracy and reliability of essential utility services, ensuring seamless operations and informed decision-making for a major energy provider. Your expertise will be instrumental in validating and integrating crucial mapping data, directly impacting the safety and efficiency of vital infrastructure.

**Responsibilities:**

* Validate the accuracy of legacy mapping data migrated to a modern geospatial system through multiple queries.

* Review land base symmetry, connectivity at structures, and ensure the integrity of utility network connections.

* Thoroughly check attribute data for all linear and point data features pertaining to critical utility components.

* Perform map symbology updates and develop effective symbology solutions as needed.

* Execute comprehensive system testing to ensure the full functionality of the new mapping product.

* Maintain an organized primary database using spreadsheet applications and other data management tools.

* Prioritize data tasks effectively and manage timelines for data review completion.

* Provide assistance on other geospatial information system projects as required.

**Required Skills & Experience:**

* Extensive GIS experience is a must-have.

* Must have at least two (2) years of experience using leading GIS software and demonstrate strong knowledge in geospatial information systems.

* Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge in map document creation, spatial queries, and spatial analysis.

* Experience within the utility environment is essential.

* Candidates must be self-starters, highly motivated with a high degree of attentiveness, integrity, energy, initiative, and resourcefulness.

* Candidate should be a quick learner and capable of carrying out tasks to completion with minimum supervision.

* Must possess good analytical skills with a technical background, strong organizational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

**Education Requirement/Certifications:**

* Bachelor's degree required
