Position Description and Purpose: Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roskam Foods is a leading contract manufacturer that partners with world-renowned food brands, retailers, and food service providers to produce a myriad of frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable products. Roskam Foods produces and packages food products with the goal of consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations for quality, safety, and wholesomeness. Key Essential Functions/Duties:
- Represent Roskam as one of the first points for candidates and new hires.
- Facilitate and coordinate the new hire orientation each week including schedule of attendees, presenters, order lunch, coordinating with uniform company, etc....
- Facilitate onboarding process including communication and completion of all onboarding requirements.
- Conduct pre-employment screenings including background checks and medical/drug screenings and collaborate with HR team on any related issues.
- Serve as point of contact for new hires addressing questions, concerns, and providing guidance throughout the onboarding process.
- Prepare and distribute onboarding schedules, welcome kits, and other relevant materials to new hires.
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration through tasks such as uploading and testing course content, assigning training to learners, tracking progress, and ensuring accurate training records are maintained.
- Support the People Services and Systems team in process improvements, special projects and events. Provide additional administrative support, as necessary.
Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required.
- Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least one year of experience in human resources, administrative and/or programcoordination role or other relevant fields.
- Knowledge of HR processes and best practices related to recruitment and onboarding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage candidates and newhires throughout the hiring process.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Positive attitude, proactive approach, and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and Workday preferred.
