Overview

The Resident Project Representative Student supports project representatives, engineers, architects, contractors, and project teams with on-site observation and documentation of construction activities. Under close supervision, the student will gain hands-on experience reviewing project plans, observing field conditions, recording construction progress, and supporting communication among project stakeholders. This is a seasonal, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.

Responsibilities

* Assist with measuring distances and checking installation dimensions and layouts against project plans.

* Assist with verifying levels, alignment, and elevations under the direction of supervising staff.

* Observe construction activities and help document whether procedures and materials appear consistent with plans and specifications.

* Support field checks of materials, equipment, and site conditions.

* Record and organize quantities of materials received and used during construction.

* Review construction drawings and specifications with project staff to build an understanding of project requirements.

* Assist in identifying and documenting potential deficiencies or field issues for review by the project engineer or supervisor.

* Help maintain project documentation, including photographs, daily reports, testing records, submittals, and schedules.

* Assist with maintaining record drawings to reflect observed construction changes and progress.

* Use computers and relevant software to support documentation, reporting, and communication.

* Travel to project sites as required, with company-paid expenses.

* Other duties may be assigned.



Qualifications

* Interest in construction administration, field observation, inspection, or project delivery.

* Basic ability to read or willingness to learn construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation.

* Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.

* Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work collaboratively with project teams.

* Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction or design software is preferred.

* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to job sites.
