Stock Clerk needed for the Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit.The Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit, in the new state-of-the-art North Carolina Surgical Hospital, is a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma certified, Beacon Gold Award for Excellence designated, 40-bed unit specializing in the care of critically injured trauma and surgical patients. This unit serves a variety of surgical patients in addition to trauma to include, but not limited to, transplant, plastics, oncology, obstetrics, gynecology, gastrointestinal, and orthopedics. Teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration are hallmarks for this unit while providing expert "Carolina Care" to the patients and families we serve. Our ONE GREAT TEAM facilitates admissions, treatments, transfers, and discharges of patients 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Primary responsibilities will include communication with the unit manager regarding priority bedside carts to be stocked during each shift, maintaining supplies according to unit standards, and developing a system to ensure a safe handoff prior to the end of each shift.

This is a part-time position scheduled for 24 hours per week, with flexible 6-hour shifts beginning as early as 11:00 a.m. and extending through 11:00 p.m., depending on unit needs. Shifts will be worked three to four days per week, excluding weekends and holidays. This position is eligible for an extensive benefits package, including PTO, which is accrued based on hours worked.

Summary:
Receives, orders, inventories, stores and issues items (food, drugs, equipment, chemicals, products, etc.) throughout the facility and off-site locations. This position performs these duties in both patient and non-patient related care areas and is assigned to a variety of departments throughout UNC Hospitals.

Responsibilities:
1. Assists with patient and other transportation as requested
2. Loads and unloads supplies. Packs and unpacks items to be stocked.
3. Maintains invoices and other records.
4. Maintains storage areas in safe, neat and clean condition
5. Receives, orders, inventories, stores and distributes supplies
6. User consultation--meets with users to fulfill needs.
