A Quality Systems Specialist job in Paterson, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This role develops, updates, and sustains the SMWE Quality Management System through policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with required industry and third-party accreditation standards.

Quality Systems Specialist job responsibilities include:



  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System and implement relevant QMS procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to improve SMWE's Food Safety, Traceability, Pest Prevention, and Sanitation Programs.
  • Serve as liaison between document authors, approvers, and reviewers.
  • Participate in FDA, corporate, and internal audits, as well as cross-functional teams.
  • Perform quality control review and editing of documents before uploading to the document management system.
  • Implement documentation and change control using electronic documentation and change control software.
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to controlled documentation.
  • Conduct training for new hires, study governance processes, document submission requirements, and new or revised policies and procedures.
  • Review and help edit technical documents.
  • Coordinate customer requests, document review processes, document review status, and document milestones through completion.
  • Support training activities, track training status for various departments, assist with third-party document review activities, and coordinate work with adjacent departments as needed.



Position Requirements:



  • High school diploma/GED plus relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree/four-year degree preferred.
  • Must be at least 21+ years of age.
  • At least two years of administrative experience required.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, Food Safety regulations, Quality System Requirements, and CAPA processes.
  • Experience in an FDA-regulated and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of documentation systems, document management, and controlled documentation processes.
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently and in a team environment, and balance competing demands in a self-directed manner.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization, with strong interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general application software.
  • Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments and to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds; work with arms extended forward, to the side, or overhead; and sit or stand for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.



Your Compensation:

$27.06 - $35.21/hr. based upon relevant experience.
