Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position
Key Responsibilities Program Milestone Support - SWS & Fire Control (FC)
  • Support preparation for upcoming Software System (SWS) and Fire Control (FC) milestones, including:
    • Finalization and tracking of System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Event Maturity Criteria
    • Shaping and developing material for upcoming SETR meetings
    • Serving as a liaison with Individual Contributors (ICs) to gather, validate, and incorporate technical inputs
    • Ensuring alignment with internal program leadership on milestone readiness and technical posture
    • Providing general milestone preparation support as needed to keep the program on schedule
External Engagement - MSL & GS Integration
  • Facilitate and lead Integration Meetings with Mission Systems Lead (MSL) and Ground Systems (GS) stakeholders across Systems, Software, Hardware, and cross-program teams
  • Represent the Fire Control program in MSL and GS technical and programmatic discussions, ensuring FC interests and requirements are clearly articulated and defended
  • Actively identify and assist in relieving integration blockers, and escalate unresolved blockers to program leadership with appropriate context and recommended courses of action
Internal Collaboration - FC POR Coordination
  • Interface and collaborate across FC Programs of Record (PORs) to drive alignment on technical handoffs and inter-program dependencies
  • Facilitate cross-POR coordination to ensure seamless integration and continuity of engineering deliverables
  • Identify and escalate blockers within FC POR interactions to program leadership, ensuring timely resolution and minimal schedule impact
Systems Engineering Execution
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses to ensure robust and compliant system architectures
  • Develop system security documentation for both new and fielded information systems
  • Provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support
  • Generate technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools
  • Participate in and contribute to requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and verification/test
  • Perform interface definition studies of system components and products
  • Plan and execute sub-tasks across the areas listed above, driving progress toward program objectives
  • Research and analyze vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and technical manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Design complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products
  • Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements
  • Lead technical tasks for large teams or projects and guide the successful completion of major programs
  • Lead small technical proposals and contribute to medium-sized proposals
  • Drive the achievement of business objectives through sound engineering leadership and decision-making
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Very strong understanding and application of systems engineering principles, concepts, and theories
  • Very strong use of tools for managing requirements and modeling systems
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly report information relevant to sound systems engineering design and program decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to represent program interests in high-stakes, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Skilled in facilitating cross-functional meetings and driving outcomes across diverse technical and organizational teams
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and escalate issues, impacts, and corrective actions effectively to all levels of leadership
  • Understanding and application of project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
  • Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships across program, customer, and partner organizations
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle complex, ambiguous assignments efficiently
  • Awareness of business objectives and the role of engineering in achieving organizational goals
  • Very strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for documentation, analysis, and presentation
  • Identifies opportunities to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) for continuous improvement and innovation in systems engineering workflows
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a related field, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience should include systems integration, cross-functional stakeholder engagement, milestone preparation, and technical leadership in complex defense or mission-critical programs.
