This role is ideal for a student interested in a career in human resources, training and development, learning sciences, organizational behavior, higher education, or related fields. This position offers hands-on experience in program planning and development, cross-campus collaborations, informational presentations, training, and short and long-term planning. The Program Assistant will build professional experience and develop their leadership capabilities by supporting the continued implementation and expansion of the LoboGROW program within the Division of Student Affairs. LoboGROW (Guided Reflection on Work) uses structured reflection and conversations between on-campus workplace supervisors and student employees to encourage students to make connections between workplace learning, classroom learning, and future career plans. Program goals include: *Identifying and strengthening student employees' transferable skills. *Supporting student employees in preparing for post-graduation careers. *Building stronger relationships between student employees and their supervisors. *Availability to work 20-25 hours per week, during Career Services' regular business hours M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Job Description The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated work style, mature decision-making ability, and a desire to learn as well as to take initiative. Specific tasks are expected to include: *Draft, edit, and format a variety of print and digital materials, including emails, resource guides, PowerPoint presentations, promotional fliers, and other content. *Plan and implement project activities, including creating timelines, scheduling and tracking deliverables and deadlines, and following up with stakeholders to achieve shared goals. *Give instructional presentations to groups. *Facilitate group meetings. *Build and maintain relationships, and communicate with campus employers, students, career services staff, and other partners to support collaborative efforts. *Develop and implement surveys, gather data, assist with data analysis, and prepare reports. *Support the planning and execution of workshops, trainings, networking activities, and other events. *Help update program information on the website, which may include content creation. *Take on additional tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications *Graduate student or upper-level undergraduate student. *Superior written and verbal communication skills. *Experience planning or assisting with events, workshops, and/or outreach activities. *Experience in creating promotional and/or instructional materials. *Public speaking and presentation skills. *Comfortable taking initiative, managing time, and working independently. *Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people. *Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create, implement, and follow through to complete short and long-term plans. *Experience with organizing digital files, taking meeting notes, and handling administrative tasks. *Experience with Qualtrics, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, and related tools, or the ability and desire to quickly learn.
