Job Summary

The Fabricator is responsible for laying out, positioning, and assembling wireway, DIN rail, and electrical components on enclosure back panels by interpreting schematics and engineering drawings. This role utilizes fabrication equipment and hand tools to cut, form, drill, and assemble components while ensuring work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with specifications and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities



  • Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine material requirements and task sequences.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure wireway, DIN rail, and components on enclosure back panels and assemblies.
  • Fit and assemble parts and components to populate back panels and enclosures.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Measure work pieces using straightedges, templates, calipers, rulers, and other measuring tools.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including brakes, shears, grinders, drill presses, and related machinery.
  • Cut, form, punch, drill, and assemble components using fabrication equipment and hand tools.
  • Operate equipment safely and follow established safety procedures and work practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties and production support activities as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts in fabrication and measurement activities.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and straightedges in both standard and metric units of measurement.
  • Experience using drills, taps, punches, and basic hand tools preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
