Who we are looking for:

The Teller Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the customer service interactions and overseeing the Teller line. Responsible for the training, supervision and coaching of the branch teller staff to ensure exemplary service. This position is also responsible for accurately processing transactions professionally and courteously and in accordance with bank and regulatory policy and procedure. You'll need the following job skills:

Communication Skills: Comfortable and confident proactively engaging with and in conversation with different audiences

What you'll do:






    • As assigned by Teller Operations Manager, coordinates the activities of the teller area by scheduling staff, assigning work, answering questions, resolving problem, assisting with complex transactions and sensitive situations
    • Assures all tellers balance accurately and in a timely manner at the close of business day; assures all monies are secured according to established security procedures; assures all teller work is scanned and submitted in a timely manner


    • Assist in hiring and training of new tellers
    • Follow established processes and guidelines in daily activity and adhere to all application laws and regulations
    • Represent the bank to the client in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions
    • Recognize and react to cross-selling opportunities
    • Receive checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records
    • Assist in bank-by-mail function
    • Issue cashier's checks and gift cards
    • Receive consumer loan and other payments, and ensure the payments match balances due. Enter transactions into bank records via core processing system
    • Responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution's forms
    • Maintain reports documenting teller outages, balances, and time cards
    • Supervise day-to-day operations activities of the teller area
    • Research and resolve transaction/cash discrepancies
    • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems
    • Perform follow up training with direct reports on a quarterly basis
    • Evaluate employees' job performance and complete performance reviews. Issue and monitor disciplinary warnings and performance improvement plans action
    • Mentor, observe and coach teller staff to ensure customer service is at optimal level
    • Actively participate, attend and hold team meetings
    • Responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer service
    • Periodically audit teller drawer and monetary instruments as stated in teller manual
    • Identify opportunities for associates to enhance career development and recommend promotions or other change in status
    • Resolve escalated complaints or disputes
    • Assist other branches with coverage and/or questions when needed
    • Represent the bank in a professional manner during and outside of office hours
    • Responsible for ordering and sustaining necessary office supplies for teller are


    • Demonstrate flexibility to perform every other duty as assigned




What you'll need to be successful:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


  • Demonstrate ethical character and judgement with attention to respect, commitment, integrity, values and confidential boundaries
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently possessing good effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize
  • Highly reliable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Sensitivity to confidential information is required
  • Strong Supervisory and leadership skills
  • Must be approachable and present a positive attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years previous banker and/or teller experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of bank products and services
  • At least 2 in a supervisory or lead role preferred
