At Ingevity, we develop innovative solutions that purify, protect, and enhance the world around us. We are seeking an Application Engineer - EVAP & Technical Quality to join our Automotive EVAP team in a unique role that combines customer-facing applications engineering with technical quality support.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a technical resource for automotive EVAP customers and prospects.

  • Design, execute, and interpret evaporative emissions and adsorption testing.

  • Support customer troubleshooting, technical reviews, and product qualifications.

  • Partner with sales, product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive customer success.

  • Investigate customer quality concerns and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support global manufacturing sites with product specifications, change management, and quality system requirements.

  • Participate in audits and quality initiatives aligned with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.

  • Develop expertise in automotive quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 2-4+ years of engineering, manufacturing, technical support, or quality experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience interpreting technical data and presenting findings to diverse audiences.

  • Familiarity with quality systems, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

  • Exposure to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949.

  • Knowledge of adsorption technologies, activated carbon, or evaporative emissions systems.

  • Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
