Primary Duties

1. Provides guidance and support on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation; formulates recommendations based on Company policy, procedures, and practice.

2. Responds to employee and retiree inquires, provides consultative services, and communicates directly with vendor organizations to resolve escalated issues promptly. Enlists Shared Services HR support appropriately and timely to address complex situations and improve outcomes.

3. Supports recruitment and onboarding processes and collaborates with leaders in the selection process. Reviews and recommends compensation for new hires, promotions, and internal adjustments based on external market data, internal equity, and budget. Reviews and updates job descriptions, as needed, to assure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

4. Prepares, coordinates, and assures completion of annual HR processes including but not limited to performance management, CMI, VPP, and open enrollment. Coordinates and supports employee recognition, including service award celebrations.

5. Oversees leave of absences cases to assure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with FMLA, ADA, and company policies. Partners with employees, leaders, and third-party vendors to resolve issues with delayed claims and incomplete documentation. Provides guidance on leave processes, eligibility, and return to work coordination, including modified duties or restrictions.

6. Identifies needs and provides guidance to employees and leaders on leaves of absence and the accommodation process. Reviews inquiries and collaborates with internal stakeholders to evaluate requests and support employees. Partners with Shared Services HR to promote consistency and document compliance with legal requirements as well as company policy.

7. Prepares and assists with unemployment claims and proceedings. Serves as the company representative in unemployment hearings.

8. May coordinate the Company's drug and alcohol and motor vehicle programs in partnership with Shared Services HR and Safety.

9. Develops and assists with the delivery of HR related communications, presentations, and trainings to leadership and employees. Identifies and elevates the need for new and/or modified policies, procedures, or programs to address changing business and/or operational requirements.

10. Participates in and supports HR and business initiatives and projects. Keeps abreast of developments in HR related regulations and trends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field and two years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources administration; or
2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and four years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources administration.
3. Valid driver's license.

Communication Skills:

Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion.

Numeric Skills:

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.

Computer Skills:

Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create complex documents, reports and/or graphics.

Physical Demands:

Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.

Work Conditions:

Works in an office environment.
Overnight travel is required.
