AbouttheRole:

ThisroleisresponsibleformanagingalloftheactivitiesandpersonnelinourSoftwareEngineeringorganization.Functionsincludemiddlewareapplications(coordinationacrossthevehicle,powercontrol,statesandmodes)andfirepower(allturretinterfaces).

Responsibilities/Assignments:

• ThisroleisresponsibleforprovidingleadershipandtechnicaldirectiontooursoftwareMiddlewareapplicationsandFirepowersoftwareengineersthatdevelopanddeliverhighqualityworkthatgoesintoourcombatvehicles.
• Willconductinterviews,hireandmentornewemployeesensuringthetechnicallycompetencyissuccessfulinordertoexecuteprojects.
• LeadstheproductdevelopmentandintegrationactivitiesfortheMiddlewareapplicationsandFirepowerarea.Ensuresthatthesoftwareisdesignedanddevelopedusingindustrystandardmethodsalongwithensuringthecodequality,performancestabilityandsecuritymeasures.
• Providesguidanceonthehardwarerequirementsandspecificationsofthedesigndescriptionsperthecustomer'sspecs.
• EnsuresthattheSAR(SpecialAccessRequirements),MilitaryStandards(DoD)andCDRL(ContractDataRequirementsList)arefollowedandincompliance.
• Managessectionbudgetsandtimeframeschedulestoensuredeliverablesaremet,ontimeandwithinbudgetedcosts.
• Isresponsibleforthecoordinationandassignmentoftasksfortheareasoftwareengineersaligningdutieswithexperiencelevelandskillsets.
• Ensuresthatallofthesoftwaretoolsandtrainingforstaffismet.
• Reviewsmanpowerdemandsandensuresaccuracyandstaffingcommitmentsaremet.
• Performsquarterlyandyearlyperformancereviewsofpersonnelandconductsstaffmeetings.Createsanenvironmentofteamworkandinter-groupcoordinationamongststaff.WilladdresspersonnelissuesasrequiredinaccordancewiththeGDLSCodeofEthics.
• Supportstheprogramleadsinachievingteamcommitmentswhenneeded.
• Developsandtracksdepartmentmetrics.
• Involvementandinputwithproposalsforcustomersalongwithpresentationswhenneeded.
• Participatesintechnicalandprogramreviewsregardingvehiclesandsoftware.
• MaybeinvolvedwithISOandCMMIauditsandcertificationsalongwithfollowingdepartmentandGDLSprocesses.

• Performsotherdutiesasassigned,toincludeactingasprimarySoftwareLeadonindividualsoftwareprojects.

MinimumQualifications/Whatyoumusthave

• BachelorofScienceinComputerScience,ComputerEngineeringorsimilarengineeringdiscipline.MBAaplus.
• 10yearsplusofworkrelatedexperience,3plusinamanagementrolepreferred.
• ExpertlevelinMicrosoftOfficesuiteapplications.
• KnowledgeandusesupportingLinux,UnixandutilizingcodemanagementtoolsGITandBitbucket,Java,C#,C++,CPython,QT
• KnowledgeofISO9001/ISO14001,OHSAS18001andCMMIstandards.
• ExperiencewithEVMS(EarnedValueMeasurementSystems)
• Beaself-starterandworkinginafastpacedenvironment
• Thecandidatewillneedtohavestrongwrittenandoralcommunicationskills.

• Experienceworkingwithorinamilitaryorfederalenvironment

• ExperiencemanaginganAgilesoftwarebacklog
• FamiliaritywithModelBasedEngineering(SysML,UML,etc.)andtools
• FamiliaritywiththeuseofHypervisorsandcontainers
