| Position Purpose |
To assist the Director of Nursing in providing direction and leadership for the health service nursing department, providing direct supervision to all Inpatient Nurses, and representing the nursing department in the Director's absence. |

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience |

Knowledge of adolescent and young adult growth and development.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound judgment and problem solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to accurately implement physician's orders.
Ability to make medical and health assessments and apply nursing practices and processes.
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Experience in physical assessment and triage.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or the equivalent.
BSN or BS in related field.
Current registration with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
Certification in
CPR and
AED.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in Nursing within the past 5 years. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
Venipuncture and phlebotomy skills.
Must be able to work all shifts.
Experience in college health, community health, and/or psychiatric nursing desirable. |

Key Accountabilities
| Description |
Utilizes the nursing process to develop nursing care plans and provides individualized nursing care to inpatients in the Student Health Service Infirmary. Utilizes critical thinking skills to monitor and assess the condition of patients, reporting significant changes to appropriate person/provider. Communicates respectfully with and is sensitive to the varying needs of a diverse student community and fosters inclusiveness and diversity. Assesses patient knowledge of preventive health care and provides health education as appropriate. (discharge teaching). |
