Key Position Details:

  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
  • 8-hour day shift
  • No weekends
  • This position is primarily remote with some in-person meetings and some possible coverage at ANW on occasion

Job Description:

Responsible for the development, organization and maintenance of patient education content across various platforms, which includes developing and curating materials that help patients understand their health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Ensures that educational materials are accurate, accessible, and engaging for patients of diverse backgrounds and health literacy levels. Manages projects and monitors effectiveness of education materials and implements improvements.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Manages patient education content across various platforms
    • Manage patient education projects using content management systems and workflows ensuring versioning controls and compliance.
    • Create patient education content in multiple formats (articles, brochures, infographics, scripts for videos, etc.) using Adobe InDesign, MS Office Suite, and/or working with content vendors to achieve content goals.
    • Work cross-functionally to ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintains awareness of education content available through subscriptions, avoids developing redundant material.
    • Communicate regularly on the status and release of new content (both created internally and through subscriptions) across the various provider areas of the organization.
  • Integrates healthcare best practices and improvements into content
    • Stay current with healthcare trends and best practices in health communication and collaborate with healthcare providers and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy.
    • Adapt complex medical information into easy-to-understand plain language for diverse audiences.
    • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of educational materials and implement improvements based on feedback and analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Health Education, Medical Writing, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in healthcare content creation/management including knowledge of health literacy principles, patient education best practices, and healthcare regulations
  • Editorial and project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Communications, Health Education, Medical Writing, or related field

Pay Range

Pay Range: $32.92 to $45.12 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
