Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director - Student-Athlete Development to lead initiatives that support the holistic development, career readiness, leadership growth, and post-graduation success of Mizzou student-athletes.

Reporting to the Executive Athletics Director - Academic Services, this position is responsible for the individualized career and leadership development of student-athletes through education, resources, and opportunities that prepare them for success during and after their collegiate experience. The position will collaborate with campus, community, alumni, and industry partners to create meaningful programming that enhances the student-athlete experience and supports personal, professional, and leadership growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Career Development and Professional Readiness

* Develop and manage a comprehensive program for individualized student-athlete career development.
* Provide one-on-one career coaching and guidance regarding career exploration, graduate school, internships, and employment opportunities.
* Assist all senior student-athletes in preparing for and securing internships, graduate school placement, and post-graduation employment.
* Coordinate career readiness programming,Assistant including resume development, interviewing skills, networking, personal branding, and professional etiquette.
* Collaborate with employers, alumni, and campus partners to create internship, mentorship, and career opportunities for student-athletes.
* Track and assess student-athlete participation and outcomes related to career development initiatives.

2. Leadership Development and Student Success Programming

* Coordinate student-athlete development programs and initiatives that emphasize student success and community service opportunities.
* Design and implement leadership development programming that promotes personal growth, accountability, communication, and teamwork.
* Coordinate educational workshops and seminars focused on life skills, financial literacy, wellness, transition planning, and leadership development.
* Lead student-athlete organizations and leadership groups, including Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) initiatives and Affinity Groups.

3. NIL Education and Personal Brand Development

* Work with Every True Tiger, campus, and community partners to develop, maximize, and enhance NIL education opportunities for student-athletes.
* Coordinate educational programming related to NIL, entrepreneurship, personal branding, financial literacy, and professional engagement.

4. Alumni Engagement and Mentorship Programs

* In partnership with the Letterwinner's Club, maintain strong relationships with former student-athletes and alumni.
* Facilitate mentorship programs that connect current student-athletes with alumni and industry professionals to enhance networking opportunities that support career exploration and professional growth.

5. Additional Responsibilities

* Collaborate with coaches, academic services, compliance, athletics administration, campus departments, and external partners to support student-athlete development initiatives.
* Collect and analyze program assessment data to evaluate effectiveness and measure student-athlete engagement.
* Remain informed of current trends and best practices in student-athlete development through professional organizations, publications, seminars, and conferences.
* Ensure all programming and activities comply with NCAA, SEC, University of Missouri, and Department of Athletics policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Grade: GGS MKT
