JOB TITLE Sports Information Manager JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Sports Information Manager supports the promotion and growth of Florida Polytechnic University Athletics through strategic storytelling, media relations, digital content development, and game-day communications operations. As part of the University's Strategic Communications team, this position works collaboratively with the Director of Communications, Director of Marketing, Athletics leadership, and University stakeholders to ensure athletics communications align with institutional branding, enrollment, and public relations priorities.

This position plays an important role in establishing and growing Florida Poly's athletics communications presence during the University's inaugural years of intercollegiate athletics competition. The Sports Information Manager is responsible for creating athletics-related content, statistical operations, media coordination, website updates, social media support, and highlighting the accomplishments of Florida Poly student-athletes, coaches, and programs. JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and advance athletics communications initiatives across digital, social, web, print, and video platforms in alignment with the University and Athletics brand standards and strategic messaging
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team and athletics staff to develop content that promotes Florida Poly Athletics, student-athletes, coach, and campus engagement initiatives
  • Serve as the primary gatekeeper in Athletics for University brand standards, copyright, and NAIA/Sun Conference compliance regarding communications and media usage.
  • Serve as the primary athletics media contact for local, regional, and national media outlets.
  • Act as the official representative to the NAIA Sun Conference, ensuring timely submission of schedules, results, and award nominations.
  • Proactively solicit and promote student-athlete honors (All-American, All-Conference, Academic awards) to elevate the department's prestige.
  • Maintain accurate historical records, statistics, and files for all varsity sports.
  • Direct the daily operations of athletics website, including schedules, rosters, coach/player bios, and real-time score updates, statistics, game recaps, etc.
  • Coordinate game-day communications operations, including live stats, score reporting, photography/videography coordinate, media management, and post-game reporting.
  • Curate and execute a high-impact social media strategy across all platforms to drive engagement and brand loyalty.
  • Oversee the creative direction of live video streaming (Hudl/RMAC Network) and produce high-quality promotional content, including highlight videos and student-athlete "spotlight" features.
  • Produce professional game programs, previews, recaps, and statistical reports for every athletic event
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field, or 3 years in a related field
  • In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience supporting collegiate athletics communications operations
  • Experience with live statistics software and athletics website management systems
  • Experience with photography, graphic design and/or video editing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities KSAs:

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of NAIA and Sun Conference compliance requirements, eligibility rules, and reporting expectations.
  • Experience with athletics statistics software and live-stating software (NCAA LiveStats/Genius), Daktronics systems, and the Hudl broadcast suite, website content management systems (WordPress, Sidearm Sports, etc.), and social media platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop (graphics), InDesign (layout), and Premiere Pro (video editing).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced and evolving startup athletics environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is salaried and exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.

TARGET HIRING SALARY: $59,500 - 63,000, commensurate with experience.
